Denham Monkey Mia and Shark Bay World Heritage Area

Denham is located 831km north of WA’s capital city, Perth on the Peron peninsula. It is WA’s most western town.

Also know as Shark Bay, Denham is a World Heritage area! And has been recognised as this since the 90′s.

Monkey Mia is 23km from Denham and is home to a vast number of Indo-Pacific bottlenose dolphins, 10,000 dugongs, 230 species of bird, 150 species of reptile, a variety of fish, sharks and rays! There are 26 species of threatened mammals to be found in the area also.

Not far from Denham town is the Francois Peron National Park.

The drive to the end of the national park is approximately 150km long, and you definitely require a 4WD for some parts of the track.
